FSU School of Theatre Presents "PURG: The Musical"

“Purgatory: The Musical” is a tantalizing, next-to-real-life look into the party culture of FSU. Based in the heart of Florida’s shittiest college town bar, join Oliver and friends as they spend yet another Thursday night getting overpriced vodka crans and vomiting into Westcott Fountain. This thrilling saga of broken heels, broken hearts and a complete lack of common sense includes classics such as “Why is cover $20?” and “Masks are so 2020.”

The night starts out at Magnolia Hall as the audience takes an intimate look into sacred pre-game rituals such as dodging the main antagonist, Denise the Resident Assistant, and passing around a single Black Cherry White Claw. After an empowering solo from the girl that didn’t make it past Landis, the audience is sure to be left in tears, pleading that her roommate will nurse her back to health in time for brunch in Collegetown. The cast then takes you down winding streets until inevitably landing on West College Avenue where the rest is history--or rather--immortalized in Snapchat memories.

“It is such a heartwarming story that makes me nostalgic for the nights I blacked out and ended up hugging police officers at the East Tennessee McDonalds,” reminisced sixth-year senior Jake Osborne while wiping the tears on his face with questionably old Guthrie’s napkin. “It was like I was just there yesterday, I mean, I was, but I can’t post on Instagram about it or else my Pre-Med buddies will call me a hypocrite or whatever.”

Join the FSU School of Theatre this Spring in this epic journey of sour stomachs and bad decisions. Admission for faculty and students is $69 and general admission is at a low price of $420. All tickets will include a free poster of the best places to vomit on FSU’s beautiful brick campus. Even if you do actually care about your own health and the safety of others, this show is still enjoyable for all audiences!
