"I'm Not Racist" Says Local Racist

Right-wingers love to tout the pursuit of truth. However, faced with the certainty of meeting the consequences of their actions (instead of apologizing or recanting), their only defense mechanism is gaslighting themselves and others. The new face of mediocrity has manifested itself into sharing the aesthetically pleasing “we should talk about this” post of the week thinking it’ll give them the pass to look down on people who didn’t vote for Biden in the primaries.

Local bigot James Byrd, whose current party affiliation is “only caring about marijuana legalization,” seems to forget that despite voting for Barack Obama twice, you can indeed still be a shitty person. “It’s always the people with cuffed jeans that think I’m racist. I don’t see color so how can anyone fathom that I am problematic? I’m nice to everyone!” the Tallahassee local said while sporting a tie-dyed “All Lives Matter” shirt. “Just because I am friends with people with questionable and borderline fascist thinking, does not mean I’m racist. Like come on, that just means I get along with everyone!”

“The bar is literally six-feet underground. People forget that complicity is just as bad as active racism. Like, this isn’t Switzerland, love--neutrality does not exist. It’s either you are actively anti-racist or you are racist,” remarked Emily D’Angelo, a local student activist. “Like, it’s understandable that fighting an unjust society takes time and is a process, but just saying that you are a nice guy isn’t going to change the fact that you pose a threat to everyone that isn’t your group of other nice guys. Taking one ‘Am I a Racist’ Buzzfeed quiz isn’t going to change the fact that you hand out micro-aggressions like an all-you-can-eat buffet.”

As 2020 comes to a fiery and explosive end, we just want to remind you that reading one chapter of “White Fragility” does not give you some anti-racist medal. Reposting from Shaun King doesn’t make you an ally of any sort.  Despite all of this, we can only hope that 2021 brings institutional change unless some spineless bigots decide that fascism is more important than patriotism.
